On September 10th and 11th, 2010 the iconic Vancouver Art Gallery was digitally transformed in a one of the a kind animation meets public art installation event.
Nightfire, a 3D building manipulation piece, told a compelling and beautiful narrative exploiting the architectural boundaries of a Vancouver Landmark.
The Vancouver Art Gallery set the canvas as Rival Schools (a strategic design and content firm) told the story of an fallen angel. She’s found broken by a lone man and with love he takes her on a journey back to her home. Set to the music “Nessun Dorma” from Turandot, audiences were presented with this unusual experiment, as light, shadow and colour were projected on the Vancouver landmark to create illusion and transform its appearance.
